FURNITEX 18 - 21 July 2013 Melbourne Exhibition Centre
Furnitex 2013 Foreword
Furnitex is Australia’s largest furniture trade fair and is an important fixture of the Australian furniture industry, showcasing the best of Australian designed and made furniture and furnishings. The array of products displayed at Furnitex trade fairs in previous years is a testimony to the strength and level of innovation within the Australian furniture industry.
Furnitex provides a great opportunity for small and medium furniture manufactures to market their products and gain the attention of both domestic and international buyers in once place. By exhibiting at Furnitex, furniture manufacturers are able to boost their capacity to reach new customers and access new markets.
The Australian Government recognises the valuable contribution the furniture and furnishings industries make to the Australian economy by employing over 100,000 Australians across the country. This is an important manufacturing sector and the Australian Government wants the industry to thrive. Successful industry events like Furnitex will help to secure the industry’s future.
I invite furniture manufacturers to explore innovation opportunities provided by the Government through AusIndustry and Enterprise Connect, such as the R&D Tax Incentive and the Clean Technology Programs.
I look forward to Furnitex 2013 and trust that it will be a successful trade fair for all exhibitors.
